ADULT MEDICINE

The Internal Medicine department consist of 2 full-time physicians. We have 12 exam rooms, an adult trauma room, a CLIA certified labratory, a x-ray department, GXT testing and after-hours call service.

Raymond Broughton, M.D.

Dr. Raymond Broughton, originally from Monroeville, Alabama is the Medical Director of the Bayou La Batre Area Health Development Board. A board-certified internist, Dr. Broughton joined the Mostellar Medical Center practice in July 1987. He received a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa and his Medical Degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Broughton and his family resides in Theodore, Al.

Shehryar Anjum, M.D.
Dr. Shehryar Anjum is a Board certified Internal Medicine Physician. He joined the Mostellar Medical Center July 2, 2007. He received his degree from Dow Medical College in Kirachi, Pakistan. Dr. Anjum resides in Mobile, Alabama with his family.

Our Pediatric department consist of 4 full-time in house pediatricians. We have 12 exam rooms, pediatric laboratory, pediatric trauma room, and vision and hearing testing, EPSDT screenings, Reach-Out-and-Read program and after-hours call service.

 

Our Pediatric Doctors:

Susan Ashbee, M.D.
Dr. Susan Ashbee grew up in Andalusia, Alabama. She earned a B.S. degree from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia and her Medical Degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Ashbee completed her Internship and Residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center and joined the Mostellar Medical Center practice in July 1981. She resides in Mobile with her two children.

Michael Strickland, M.D.
Dr. Michael Strickland joined the Pediatric Department of the Mostellar Medical Center July 1, 2006. He received his Pediatric Degree from the University of South Alabama Hospital. Dr. Strickland resides in Mobile, Alabama.

John Sarrouf, D.O.
Dr. John Sarrouf joined the Pediatric Department of the Mostellar Medical Center July 2, 2007. He received his Pediatric Degree from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Sarrouf resides with his family in Mobile, Alabama.

Vimla Bhagwandin, M.D.
Dr. Vimla Bhagwandin joined the Mostellar Medical Center December 1, 2007. She recieved her Pediatric Degree from the University of Guyana in Turkeyen, Guyana. Dr. Bhagwandin resides with her family in Mobile, Alabama.

Mostellar Medical Center has a full time OB/GYN nurse-practitioner. We also have three part time doctors from the University of South Alabama for all your Obstetrical and Gynecological care needs, with a pre and post natal department as well as an ultra sound room.

 

Our OB/GYN Staff:

Monica Taylor, C.R.N.P.
 Mrs. Taylor, a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, joined the Mostellar Medical Center OB/GYN staff in February 2000. Monica earned her B.S. Degree in nursing at the University of South Alabama and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama College of Nursing with certification in women's health care. Mrs. Taylor is from Mobile and resides with her family in Irvington, Alabama.

Southwest Alabama Health Services - Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Southwest Alabama Health Services (SAHS) consist of 1 full time Pediatrician and 1 full time Internal Medicine Physician as well as an adult/pediatric trauma room, an adult/pediatric lab, and a x-ray department.

Huguette Douyon, M.D.
Dr. Huguette Douyon joined our staff at Southwest Health Services in McIntosh, Alabama in December 1993. She earned a B.S. Degree from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Douyon completed her internship and residency programs at Cabrini Medical Center in Manhattan, New York. She is board-certified in Internal medicine. Dr. Douyon resides with her husband and five children in Mobile, Alabama.

Phillip Stover, M.D.
Dr. Phillip Stover is originally from Elijah, Georgia. He earned a B.S. Degree from Southern College, Collegedale, TN and his Medical Degree from St. Lucia Health Sciences University, Castries, St. Lucia, West Indies. He completed his Internship and Residency programs at State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Stover joined the staff at Mostellar Medical Center in September 1992 and transferred to our Washington County clinic in May 1996. Dr. Stover and his wife reside in Mobile.

Dr. Robert F. Bradford, Jr.
Dr. Robert F. Bradford, Jr. joined the Mostellar Dental Center July 23, 2007. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama, School of Dentistry. Dr. Bradford resides with his wife, Brandi in Mobile, Alabama.
